OSPF Routing Protocol

OSPF Routing Protocol:

1.  It is an open shortest path first routing protocol, or also known as a link-state routing protocol.
2. AD value is 110, the cost for FastEthernet is 1 i.e. (100Mbps/cost of bandwidth in Kbps)
3. OSPF has an unlimited hop count
4. OSPF provides flexible, Fast and scalable routing protocol, its convergence time is fast.
5. OSPF establishes neighbourship to share the routing tables or its Database.
6. OSPF is configured on Interfaces, not on the router.
7. OSPF supports VLSM/CIDR
8. Works on both IPV4 and IPV6
9. Works on Dijkstra Algorithm.

OSPF mechanism:

1. OSPF generates and sends Hello Packet
2. Establishes Neighborship.
3. Shares database.
4. Form Adjacencies.
